Call for 2009 Scholarship Applications

The Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation is soliciting applications for its Public Health Scholarships to be awarded in the Fall of 2009.

DEADLINE: Applications must be postmarked or dispatched by delivery service on/before the deadline of Friday, May 1, 2009; and, sent to the Lucille and Edward R. Roybal Foundation at 5253 E. Beverly Boulevard, East Los Angeles, CA 90022-2020.

Requirements:

• Hispanic Students in their Junior or Senior year or in a Graduate Program of an accredited College or University in Pharmacy, Optometry, Nursing, or Public Health;

• A minimum grade-point-average of 2.5;

• A commitment to serve the interests of low-income Latino communities in the United States; and,

• Financial need.

The purpose of the Roybal Foundation Scholarship Program is to provide scholarships to Hispanic Students in their Junior or Senior year or in a Graduate Program of an accredited College or University who are pursuing public health careers and wish to serve the interest of low-income Spanish-speaking communities in the United States.

The Roybal Foundation offers scholarships in four areas: Optometry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Public Health-related programs. Individual scholarships will be in the amount of $5,000 for graduate students and $2,500 for undergraduate students.
